Voice interfaces are becoming an increasingly popular communication channel, driven by technological breakthroughs in #AI and natural language processing. Originally developed as accessibility tools, they have evolved into preferred media channels for a wide range of users. This shift has caught the attention of advertisers, who are exploring new ways to engage audiences through voice assistants and voice-activated ads. In this talk, we’ll explore the unique characteristics of this emerging market, the importance of the audio channel to advertisers, and the #advertising and tracking techniques currently in use. We will assess the potential threats and inconveniences to users and examine whether current #adblocking technologies are equipped with tools to handle ads and trackers delivered through the audio channel.
